The Dunning-Kruger Effect

(the way to humbly stay focused)

The Dunning-Kruger effect is an interesting thing.

It allows you to realize something that no one else does.

With the knowledge we’re about to uncover,

You’ll find out how you can take full advantage…

So

What is the Dunning-Kruger effect??

It’s a human bias that goes as follows,

“People who Lack knowledge and skill commonly overestimate their competence,

while people who Have the knowledge and skill commonly underestimate their competence.”

This means people who don’t know much about something think they know more than they do.

While the opposite is true, people who know a lot about something think they don’t know much; They just know how little they know.

Another word for this is Humble

This is the goal.

Not to underestimate yourself, but do not boast about how good you are or how much you know,

It’s not a good image.

The only way to keep that humbleness is by creating it in the learning stage.

How?

By realizing you don’t know as much as you think, but willing to learn more.

Just by simply switching these two perspectives you will set yourself apart.

The last thing about the Dunning-Kruger effect

that, I think,k is remarkable…

When you’re in the Optimistic first stage of thinking, you know a lot more than you actually do…

Just realize when the next shiny thing comes around,

the next business model to start,

or another sport to try out or whatever.

Just know you’re in that excitement stage.

You’re in that stage where you can get stuck in an endless loop of constantly trying something new, which most people are already.

This leaves you not sticking to anything, which results in you not being good at any of it.

All because you’re too excited and think the grass is greener on the other side.

That first stage makes you more likely to make poor decisions.

So once you realize that the grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it.

You’ll know what path is right for you and become a master at your own craft.

So go out there

Gain some awesome knowledge and skills,

Humbly setting yourself apart in the process.
